Since the beginning of our modern experience of this phenomenon, many distinctive crop formations have graced the beautiful Hampshire landscape. Alongside its Wiltshire neighbour, both counties receive the majority of UK formations in any given year, although it is fair to say that Wiltshire consistently hosts the larger share.
We Sent A Secret Message
Due to the high volume of crop circles in both counties, there is no shortage of place names to explore for hidden messages from our interstellar neighbours. However, it is interesting to note that the higher volume of Letters are also to be found within the Wiltshire site place names than from any other area in the UK or elsewhere in the world.
A very close second, in terms of the numbers of Letters found, Hampshire crop circle sites have been the caretakers of several significant finds. This one found at Telegraph Hill in Winchester being a key example. It is also worth noting that not all the site names reveal Letters. In many cases, site names do contain significant words relating to the phenomenon, indicating the likelihood that they also contain one of these secret communications, but access to full decoding is denied because the name exceeds the allowable parameters for decoding i.e. the name has more than 15 separate letters and/or all 5 vowels.
Ironically, more than a few masterful formations, spectacular in their symbolic/ geometric significance (revealing much to researchers in respect of these particular disciplines), presented this researcher with firmly closed doors.
This is indicative of two things:
- The Circle Makers are not prepared to reveal more than they wish to at this time, so they place a circle at a site that is effectively ‘locked out’ in respect of releasing information by this method.
- The special meaning is encoded solely within and through the pattern itself. There is no extra assist from the Letters. The phenomenon has presented us with a running commentary, as it were, parallel with the patterns, which sheds light on many aspects of it, but we are required nevertheless to conduct our own analytical assessment of the construction techniques and meanings of the individual symbols.
